Shoes to Kenya collects unwanted childrens’ shoes from around Britain and sends them to needy kids in Kenya.
Josie Gritten (a portrait photographer and mum of two boys) and Jolene Barton (founder of eco-baby store Babi Pur and mum to two girls) began a venture collecting used childrens' shoes and sending them to their contact, Isaac Ouma, in Kenya. Isaac then distributes the shoes to children in schools and orphanages around Kenya.

My sister had been to Kenya and had seen how interested the Kenyan children were in shoes and how few of them actually have any shoes let alone well fitting ones. When Max grew out of his shoes recently I decided that I wanted to do something more direct than simply giving them to a second hand shop. And so Shoes to Kenya was born.
